Public Guided Tour: End of Testimony?

  • Villa Heimann-Rosenthal 5 Schweizer Straße Hohenems, Vorarlberg, 6845 Austria (map)

Public guided tour through the current exhibition (in German)

The era of eyewitness accounts about the Holocaust is approaching its end. Only few survivors of the Nazi regime can still speak from their own experience - or talk about those people who were murdered in the Holocaust. The one-hour guided tour focuses on the memory of the Shoah as it has been passed down in interviews and recordings of public appearances by contemporary witnesses. We will examine the "made-up fashion" of these interviews, each of which is a product of the most diverse social and political relationships and interests: in court or in school classrooms, for research, television or cinema. For the first time in the current exhibition, previously unpublished eyewitness interviews from the collection of the Jewish Museum Hohenems are on display.

A public guided tour as part of the programme accompanying the exhibition "End of Testimony?”
